I’m excited to be part of the Science Museum ‘Late’ on Wednesday 29th April on the theme of ‘Wearable Technology’ doing my Bikes & Bloomers thing.
The program is here:
It’s a great opportunity to reach a science/tech audience.
Should be a good night. If you are going, please drop by and say hello.
Bikes & Bloomers at the Science Museum ‘Late’ on Wearable Technology
Dr Kat Jungnickel from Goldsmiths Sociology Department tells cycling, sewing and suffragette stories. In the 1890s Victorians took to the newest modern technology – the bicycle. Find out about the intersection of design, new mobility technologies, gender politics and the changing nature of public spaces in 19th-century Britain through the lens of inventive women’s cycle wear. You can also try on some of the costumes!
