As we start to produce our own bloomers to fit into the collection, we are going back over historically accurate commercially available patterns we have to cross reference different styles. Just as with our bloomer workshop style, the fuller cut is deemed acceptable outerwear in this 1890s Bicycle suit
Surprisingly, the components- a back and front basically the same, gathered in over 100%, a wide set of waisteband and knee straps, and facing/ a placket and the instruction to add hooks and eyes across the opening.
The technique of putting it together doesn’t really deviate either…
… and perhaps unsurprisingly, the basic block shape of the pattern is almost identical to the one we’ve been using so far.
